ACCEPTED COLORS

White

Tan – A light beige

Buckskin – Tan with yellow tones.

Fawn – Tan with red tones. Lighter than buckskin.

Dark Fawn – Brown with red tones.

Brown

Chocolate – Can range from a deep chocolate to a light milk chocolate.

Light Red

Red

Blue – Any shade of blue gray to gray blue from slate to light blue gray usually has gray nose, blue has blue nose.

Bluies – Portions of the coat having a distinct blue or gray coat. This is often associated with lighter or blue eyes. A reddish or gray pigment around the eye rims, nose and lips are also identified with this color. To indicate this coloring please list the predominant color first/Bluies/Markings, etc.

Black & Tan – Predominantly black with tan markings over eyes, muzzle, chest, feet & legs. May also have white markings.

Red & Tan – Predominantly red with tan markings over eyes, muzzle, chest, feet & legs. May also have white markings.

Chocolate & Tan – Predominantly chocolate with tan markings over eyes, muzzle, chest, feet & legs. May also have white markings.

Black -Jet black to dull black.

Seal -Appears black except has red coat when viewed in sun or bright light.

Liver – Deep brown with red tones.

Gray – Can be listed light or dark.

Ticked -Darker hairs distributed in a diffuse pattern over a lighter colored coat.

Merle – A mottled coloring of two or more colors creating a marbled effect. Brindle – A fine even mixture of brown/black hairs over a lighter colored
coat usually in a somewhat striped pattern. In the event of a black brindle, the predominant or background color is black with lighter colored hairs in
a somewhat striped pattern.

blue brindle, Etc

UNACCEPTED COLORS

Pied – Comparatively large patches of two or more colors or parti-colored. List as patched.

Dudley Nose – Flesh colored nose. List as red nose.

Silver – List as gray.

Apricot – List as light red.

Foxy – List as fawn.

Bronze – List as red/brown.

Orange – List as light red. Blonde – List as buckskin.

Yellow – List as buckskin.

Mahogany – Deep brown with red tones. List as liver.

Tri-Colored – Dominant color with tan markings. (Doberman like markings) List as black & tan/white markings.

Amber – List as buckskin.

Sable – Black with brown or red tones. List as seal.

Creme – List as light tan.

Cinnamon – List as a shade of brindle. See brindle list

Flesh – List as Red Nose

If nose has speckled spots wait to see what color it
will be on pup. Some pups are born with a pink nose
and you can’t tell what color it is going to be yet, so
wait a few weeks before registering litter to be certain
of nose color.
